Hand Forged Hooks

Hand forged hooks, made one at a time at my anvil in Slad, near Stroud, in the Cotswolds. Everything here is forged by hand from solid steel bar — not cast, not stamped, not bought in and relabelled.

What is in the range
The twisted wall hook is the one most people start with. It comes in 6mm or 8mm bar, in lengths from 12cm to 16cm, with a small scroll at the tip, a twist down the stem and two screw fixings so it will not pivot once it is up. Good for keys, mugs, tea towels and the general clutter by a door.
The hook bar is the bigger piece. It is hand forged and hand riveted with copper rivets I make myself from 4mm copper bar, with hooks forged from 6mm bar, each one twisted, tapered and scrolled at the end. Custom bars are no trouble — more hooks, fewer hooks, scrolled ends or plain, more or less whatever you have in mind.

Under-shelf hooks are next. Same hook, but with a 90 degree bend at the set-down so they screw up into the underside of a shelf rather than flat against a wall.
After those, a simpler J hook. That will be the most affordable thing in the range, for when you want hand forged steel without the twist work.

How they are finished
The hooks are finished with a hot wax of pure beeswax. It soaks into the warm steel and gives a deep, darkened colour with brighter highlights on the hammered faces. The wax offers a little protection, but these are made for indoor use.

Made to order
Standard lead time is 4 working days, then 48 hour shipping. Because they are forged rather than machined, sizes can vary slightly from piece to piece, which is rather the point. If you want a size or a shape that is not listed, email me and I will make it to suit.
