Looking for a unique day out? Join us for an immersive blacksmithing experience that blends hands-on learning, fun, and heritage craft (in fact, ancient craft!)

The day begins at 10 AM with a warm cup of tea or coffee as we cover the basics of health and safety. From there, you’ll head straight to the forge, where you’ll learn a few foundational techniques of this ancient craft on some offcuts of steel, followed by creating your first item of the day… your very own hand forged hook. This will use several techniques that you learned earlier in the day: Drawing a taper, scrolling, twisting, and more.

After this, you’ll have the chance to choose your next project from a few options I suggest on the day. If you’re quick on the anvil, you can forge multiple pieces to take home! (although I don’t recommend rushing!).

With a maximum of just 4 students per class, you’ll receive plenty of personal attention from the blacksmith. We aim to finish around 5 PM, but we won’t leave you hanging—if you need more time to perfect your masterpiece, we’ll stick around to help (within reason!)
